INTRODUCTION
The project sought to chart a new direction for the luxury brand Singer Vehicle Design, culminating in LURE, a lounge chair tailored to the lifestyle of Singer Porsche owners.
LURE is conceived as a centerpiece in the living room, dedicated to relaxation and engaging conversations.
MATERIAL
The table top features polished oak for a smooth feel, while the cushions are crafted from breathable nylon fabric, ensuring superior odor control and durability for repeated use.
The outer shell is made from highly recyclable foam, offering protection against cat damage and enhancing structural support.
DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
INSPIRATION
In this project, I delved into realms synonymous with Singer, epitomized by luxury and innovation. After brainstorming various directions, I decided to design a lounge chair for the living room, reflecting these core values.
BRAND POSITIONING
Next, I conducted research on brands offering lounge chairs across different price ranges, creating a brand matrix. Additionally, I explored competitors that share Singer's design ethos of high luxury and innovation, to understand the market landscape better.
DESIGN DIRECTION
I then defined my design direction, focusing on two main elements: the frame and the main body. The frame is envisioned to be streamlined and sleek, while the main body aims for an organic and soft appearance. For ergonomic insights, I referenced an armchair from Molteni.
IDEATION
Following the establishment of my design direction, I embarked on weeks of ideation, focusing on the chair's side view to capture its most appealing angle. Through numerous sketches and AI-assisted rough renderings, I eventually selected a final form for the chair, setting the stage for detailed modeling.
