INTRODUCTION
The project sought to chart a new direction for the luxury brand Singer Vehicle Design, culminating in LURE, a lounge chair tailored to the lifestyle of Singer Porsche owners.
LURE is conceived as a centerpiece in the living room, dedicated to relaxation and engaging conversations.
BRAND IMAGE
This project was created for clients of the brand Singer Vehicle Design, a renowned Porsche refit company celebrated for its unique aesthetics, premium luxury, and high innovation. After weeks of brainstorming, I decided to propose a lounge chair concept that embodies Singer's commitment to luxury and innovation, offering clients an exclusive and unparalleled experience.
BRAND POSITIONING
After conducting market research on the lounge chair industry, I positioned Singer in the top-right corner of the spectrum for innovation and luxury. Additionally, I analyzed competitors that share Singer's design ethos of high-end luxury and innovation to gain a deeper understanding of the market landscape.
DESIGN LANGUAGE
Through extensive research on top brands and iconic products, I developed a design language that seamlessly integrates Singer's aesthetic into the lounge chair. The form is characterized by a solid body encased within a surrounding structure, emphasizing a dynamic, streamlined feel while providing an organic, enveloping sense of comfort and luxury.
IDEATION
Following the establishment of my design direction, I embarked on weeks of ideation, focusing on the chair's side view to capture its most appealing angle. Through numerous sketches and AI-assisted rough renderings, I eventually selected a final form for the chair, setting the stage for detailed modeling.
FORM DEVELOPMENT
After establishing the main form, I refined the details through modeling to best represent Singer's aesthetic. This included focusing on elements like edge finishing, mattress thickness, and feet placement while selecting the optimal CMF set to align with Singer's design language. Each iteration brought improvements, enhancing the balance between a solid yet dynamic form.
FINAL FORM
The final design features a sleek, metal-framed structure surrounding the main body, offering both structural strength and integrated armrests.
The main body is crafted with a wood shell and soft, full-body cushioning inside, ensuring maximum comfort and a premium tactile experience.
ERGONOMIC
The chair is designed with ergonomic principles to offer a stable and comfortable seating experience.
It features a deep seat and precisely angled armrests, providing optimal support for an exclusive lounge experience.
STRUCTURE
It also offers exceptional flexibility in its cushioning. The seating area is generously padded with foam to ensure comfort.
The contoured edges of the outer shell create a subtle sinking sensation as users settle in.
CMF
Much like a singer's versatility, the chair offers multiple customization options to meet customers' specific needs.
The selected materials ensure both an aesthetically pleasing appearance and a luxurious, tactile experience.
